new design for a new republic

well, i've dropped my peds sub-i. correction: i've been given the go-ahead from the head of pediatrics that it's ok to drop it. however, it's under "locked" status on my schedule, so i can't drop it. hopefully they'll do it for me.

anyway, this makes me a free man from 10/24/05-11/18/05. the easiest thing would be to just pick up a rotation at UW. ideally, i'd pick up a TLC (that's ICU in cutesy UW hospital speak) rotation, but there are none open during that time slot. also under consideration: ER rotation, or possibly... cardiac consults. *shudder*

prime choice for replacement would be to continue my NYC stay (with accomodations pending bard's approval, since i'll already be out there from 10/3-10/21 on rotation at mt. sinai) with an away rotation at NYU. problem is, the lady that coordinates the rotations is NEVER available. i've called 4 times the past day and a half, and she's either been out to lunch, on the other line, or went home. i guess i'll try again tomorrow.

another fine idea would be to spend the time in a rotation at northwestern memorial hospital. i contacted the clerkship director last night, and this morning i already received a response that there are openings, plus he left me a message on my phone! stellar work! very impressive. i hear the residency is tough and the case load is insane, but i also hear great things about the hospital. plus 90% of everyone i know lives in chi-town so it'd be fun. basically i just want to work in this ridiculous ivory tower hospital, just to see it. but i'd have to find a place to shack up while i'm there.

any takers?

I've also got a 2nd bedroom with room for an M4, but I'll treat you nicer if you do an EM rotation instead. NYU's prolly beter than either of those options tho, so goog luck.
