1. michael moore last night at the union terrace. it was cold, it was crowded. he was yelling, kinda resembled santa claus with his red badgers winter hat.
he was predictably interrupted by the college republicans who were chanting "four more years." after they were drowned out by chants of "two more weeks," he asked them to come forward and sign up for military service. then he called them pussies. for serious.
2. amy and i went to go see maria, full of grace friday night. great film. about the struggles of a colombian girl trying to make ends meet, taking on a job as a drug mule. this film doesn't attempt to patronize the audience, doesn't lecture or teach us a lesson. it's just very well done. and all in spanish. catalina sandino moreno, who plays maria, does an excellent job in the lead role.
3. the badgers played one of the more exciting football games i've watched in years, beating purdue, remaining undefeated (4-0 in the big ten!) and now tied (TIED!) for first in the conference with michigan! and we don't even play michigan this year!

3.a. the packers are also winning right now, beating up all over the lions. sweet. now they won't be 1-5 or whatever their dismal record would be.
4. my people know what's up. how come the american people don't care? the mere fact that this presidential race is anything even approaching close illustrates that a large chunk of this populace gives two shits about, well, everything.
nearly 70% of koreans feel negatively towards bush, and they're split 70-20 in favor of a kerry versus a bush presidency. (let's not elect him in 2004 either)

okay, here's what i've picked up about koreans feelings towards g dubs:
most younger people (highschool, college students) have burning hatred for him. they especially seem pissed that he called north korea part of the axis of evil. totally understandable.
older adults (according to our uncle), love bush. when i asked why, the only response i got was, "bush #1. bush #1. kerry not good." but this is also coming from the same uncle who constantly tells me, "korean cars #1. korean electronics #1. korean brains #1."
